Ranch Dressing
A pivotal turning point for any area is when a home is seen for its land value and is either razzed or substantially transformed. This project was located in a neighborhood of basic ranch-style homes originally built in the early 1970’s. The appeal of the property lies in the quiet street, central location and generously sized lot. With the objective of transforming the existing home to their forever home, the owners turned to Kersting Architecture. The results expanded the living and outdoor spaces with effortless flow and infused the style of the home with a mid-century modern feel which paid homage to its era of origination. We carefully dismantled the core of the home, expanded its footprint to the front and rear then wove in its new volume adding outdoor space at each end. Matching beam and vaulted ceiling details tie the interior and exterior spaces together seamlessly. The custom millwork and thoughtful detailing through the kitchen, living and listening rooms evoke the air of sophistication popularized by the mid-century modern era.
